Coruscant Guard to be defunded.

The Coruscant Guard, an elite group of clone shock troopers who act as military police, have come under fire after an incident that involved a twi'lek. The unnamed twi'lek s was protesting the shooting of an unarmed wookie during the Jedi riots. The unit, who is trained in riot control, can be seen controlling a riot when a twi'lek male approached a trooper. The trooper responded by bashing the citizen with his riot shield. 

"My troopers are just following protocol, we are literally programmed from birth for this situation" was a statement from their commander CC 1010 aka Commander Fox. But the increase of incidents has left the public wondering if their protectors can tell the difference between them, and clankers. 

"Our thoughts are with the affected families, but in times of civil unrest, it is necessary to do what must be done. Do not hesitate, show no mercy....wait for thats for later...where is that whiney....(end transmission) " was the official statement from the Chancellors office. The local garrison has not commented at this time. 

A proposal by the Republic Senate has been introduced to defund the Coruscant Guard following the incidents. "We cannot sit by and let the law ignore the law with the promise of order and security." The Senate has followed up with a motion, but the motion is expected to go nowhere, just like the rest of the senate. 

The irony of the situation is that the Coruscant Guard would be replaced with Super Battle Droids to quell and civil unrest and riots; The same droids they are programmed to destroy. "Id like to see those protesters watch out for those wrist rockets, then they will miss us." a statement by CC-1052. 

"It is not like they are going to replace the whole Grand Army of the Republic. Who are they going to get? Civilians to replace us. That should work nicely. I bet they will dress them up in our armor as well." While all this is happening, an explosion has been seen from the Jedi Temple. Most assume it is further rioting.
