Imperial Citizens Demand Other Statues To Be Removed
The Confederacy of Independent Systems are gone, but their memory remains on planets with memorials to their leaders. Many Imperial citizens have been calling for the removal of these hateful statues. They see them as a symbol from a time where the galaxy was at war and divided by hate.
There are some citizens that feel that the statues are a symbol of pride; it reminds them of a time where they were free and had the choice to stand up to the Empire. No matter what side you are on, both movements are growing.
Last rotation, a large group of Serennoians defaced and pulled down a statue of Count Dooku, the Separatist leader during the clone wars. “We cannot allow this hate to continue. This statue represents the hate of the CIS, but the man was a freaking Sith Lord. It does not get any worse than that.” Many in the Empire find this ironic, considering our Emporer himself is indeed a Sith Lord. But many see him as the best Sith Lord. A great guy. The best in the galaxy; Who bought our galaxy together after a decade of war.
Other statues around the galaxy may suffer the same fate. There are statues of many other Separatist leaders such as General Grievous and Viceroy Gunray. “If we do not leave these statues, you are erasing our history, our pride. Historical laws should protect the statues.”
Others want to leave the statues because they remind us of our past and what happens when you let planets succeed from the Empire. “History needs to be preserved so that history does not repeat itself. The statues may represent symbols of a hat. But we cannot forget that hate and learn to heal from it.”
The Emporer has made a statement about the issue. “I don’t understand why they did Dooku like that. He was a standup guy, a great Sith Lord. What we should be tearing down are statues of Jedi. They were the real traitors. If I have to bring the Death Star to put down riots, I will.”
